School of Frontier Missions in Spain
12 Sept - 8th December 2012 English/French
The School of Frontier missions (SOFM) is designed for those who have first completed a DTS and want to better prepare themselves to serve in frontier locations throughout Muslim communities in rapidly growing urban areas across Europe, North Africa, and Middle East. Our desire is for you to grow in intimacy with God, and understand his heart for Muslim people. During the school you will be encouraged to consider teaming up with other students and staff for your first assignment after the school.
This school is an intensive, three-month program with a weekly rotating faculty. The curriculum is designed to challenge you to develop a biblical worldview in regard to frontier mission work, exploring themes such as helping the poor in meaningful ways, cross cultural adaptation and language acquisition skills, storytelling, and project planning. You will also acquire a basic understanding and appreciation of the complexity of the Muslim world and how the Kingdom of God can expand into those communities.
The school does not have outreach afterwards. Instead, students can either be assisted with finding a place for internship on the field, or they can be coached in starting up a new team and begin serving long term where they feel called. In that case, coaching and pastoral care can be provided by the North Africa staff.
