James 1:27 Pilgrimage – India and Nepal
Sept. 7- Monday. September 17 (11 days)
Come join us as we try to answer the spiritual mandate of James 1:27—both to “care for the orphans and widows” by spending 3 full days with abandoned and exploited children in Pune, India…. and “to keep oneself unstained by the world”, by making a spiritual pilgrimage to Nepal, trekking high into the Himalaya just to spend time with our Jesus.
We will spend 3 full days playing with and praying for 31 children who have been rescued from the streets and brothels of Pune, India. But we have the opportunity to be Jesus with skin on to the “least of these”…those whom the world has forgotten.
Then, we journey up to the rooftop of the world—Nepal! We will have a spiritual retreat trekking through villages and the most stunning mountain scenery in the world! We will trek about 4-6 hours each day for 3 days—spending alone time with God and sharing His revelations with one another in the tea huts and guest lodges along our journey.
Our last day will be spent in Kathmandu, Nepal (once part of the Hippie trail). We will spend the day touring Kathmandu in the morning, shopping in the afternoon and then leaving for home with full hearts…. loving our God and caring for His children!
